Charcoal Deliveries

Local Deliveries

For all orders, a flat fee of £10 + VAT applies for deliveries up to 5 miles (one way).

Delivery is calculated as a 'Round Trip' from our base to your postcode / address (using Waze) at a rate of £ 0.95 + VAT per mile.

Deliveries into London are charged at a minimum of £75 + VAT. Where Congestion or ULEZ Charges are applicable, these will also be charged.

From 25 October 2021, the existing central London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will expand to create a single larger zone bounded by the North Circular Road (A406) and South Circular Road (A205). From this date, all deliveries into London will be be charged an additional £12.50 + VAT to cover for this.

Regional & National Deliveries

Orders for BBQ charcoal delivery outside the above area will be confirmed when you state your address on ordering.

Delivery takes between 1 and 5 business days from the date of your order and you will be contacted within 48 hours to arrange a suitable delivery date and time. Delivery will be made between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

Bagged charcoal is delivered by our Discovery Commercial or by our hauliers for larger orders. We will do our best to deliver as close to the property if access allows. We will not be able to carry materials up paths or into rear gardens. Access to sites must be on hard roads over which a vehicle can pass without sustaining or causing damage of any kind.

 Unable to be present at the delivery?

You may choose to opt out of the required signature for delivery. This may be convenient if you have a busy schedule or know that you will not be available to sign on the day. In these instances, the driver will place the load outside of your home on a hard flat surface near the property. Typically the load will be placed on the front drive or by the side of your house. Please note that Herts WoodFuel / Stag Charcoal does not accept responsibility for stolen, misplaced deliveries or weather damaged deliveries, should you decide to opt out of signing for your delivery.

 If Goods Are Delivered Damaged or Faulty

Please examine all goods on delivery in case any damage has occurred in transit. The driver should be notified immediately of any problems and the ticket should be signed accordingly.

We can not guarantee to replace or repair items which have been signed for in good condition or 'unchecked' and are later found to be damaged. This does not affect your statutory rights.

If goods have been delivered in a damaged state and we feel the situation can not be improved by authorizing another delivery, we reserve the right to refund you in full for your order and cancel the order.

Hertswoodfuel.uk & HorticMan Ltd will not accept any liability for any charcoal that has been left out in: RAIN, SNOW & ALL DAMP AREAS. At any time of the year ……

Hertswoodfuel..uk & HorticMan Ltd t/a Herts WoodFuel, holds no responsibility of unenforceable wet weather after delivery as the delivery will be made by a crane-equipped vehicle. Sole responsibility goes to the buyer once goods are delivered.
